 RELIGIOUS FREEDOM WEEK

From June 22nd– 29th, the Catholic Church in the U.S. will observe Religious Freedom Week, which succeeds Fortnight for Freedom. Religious Freedom Week will begin with the feast day of Saints Thomas More and St. John Fisher, includes the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, and will end with the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. During this special week, Catholics are encouraged to pray and act daily in support of religious liberty at home and abroad.

The theme this year is Serving Others in God's Love. As missionary disciples called by Christ to serve others and to live our faith in all we do, religious freedom is necessary if we are to have the space to serve in areas like education, health care, adoption and foster care, and migration and refugee services.

To assist the faithful, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) developed daily “Pray-Reflect-Act” one-page resources to inspire people to learn more about religious liberty, pray about a particular issue, and utilize provided tools to act on what they learn, whether it’s finding ways for their parish to serve their community or perhaps even calling a Member of Congress to promote legislation supporting religious liberty.

There is a “Pray-Reflect-Act” page for each day of the week on a different topic of importance. The daily resources are available in a PDF format or can viewed as a web page on the USCCB website. Learn more and find more resources at www.usccb.org/ReligiousFreedomWeek
