PRO-LIFE CORNER

QUESTION: Did plaintiff Norma McCorvey (aka Jane Roe in Roe vs. Wade) have an abortion?

ANSWER: No! She put the baby girl up for adoption. The child, now an adult, has became a close family member.  Norma McCorvey is now a Roman Catholic and has dedicated her life to pro-life activity and tells how she was “used” by the attorneys in the infamous case.

ACTION: Pray and work for laws to aid adoption.

Need help for recovering from an abortion?  Talk to our priests and/or call Project Rachel toll free at 1-877-908-1212.

PRO-LIFE CORNER

Question: What are stem cells and how are they obtained?  Answer: Every human body contains stem cells.  These cells develop into 200 or more kinds of cells that make up the organs of the human body.  Scientists theorize they can cultivate these cells and program them for specific therapeutic purposes, such as growing new brain, heart, or kidney tissue to repair damaged tissue.  Stem cells develop very early in the human embryo after fertilization, but they are also found in the placenta and the umbilical cord as well as in the adult brain, bone marrow, blood, skeletal muscle, and skin. Source: “Our Sunday Visitor”

Action: Pray (at this moment) for the wisdom of the general population on understanding the subject of stem cell research and of the issues being faced. Pray Catholics will pro-actively support church teaching on stem cell research.
