KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS CHARITIES COUNCIL 5629
With
more than 1.6 million members, the Knight of Columbus is the world’s
largest Catholic family fraternal organization. It provides members and
their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic
Church and the community it serves. In 2002, the Knights of Columbus
raised and distributed $130 million to charities and nearly 60 million
hours of volunteer service. During that year, the Knights of Our Mother
of Perpetual Help contributed over $25,000 to local charities and
provided over 4,300 hours of volunteer service including, but not
limited to: St. Helen School, Scout Troop # 550, Special Olympics,
Association of Retarded Citizens, the Wabasso School for Exceptional
Children, and Youth Now. If

GOING INTO
THE HOSPITAL?
Please remember to call the Church
office at 567-5129 if you need to arrange a visit from a priest while
you are in the hospital. If you would like to receive the Eucharist
while in the hospital or at home recovering, please call
the
Neighborhood Apostolate office at 567-5193. If you know you are going to
the hospital and would like to receive the Sacrament of the Sick before
major surgery, you may receive the sacrament during the 8:30 a.m. Mass
on the first Saturday of the month.
CURSILLO
The
Cursillo movement is looking for Catholic men and women who wish to
learn more about their faith and develop a closer personal relationship
with Jesus. There will be separate retreat weekends this fall for
eligible men and women. For

Cursillistas are encouraged to submit application forms for candidates

HOSPICE SPEAKERS BUREAU FREE TO THE PUBLIC
We
speak to groups throughout the county. If you are looking for a vital
program that will inspire your club members, call Community Relations
Coordinator, Geoffrey Gabriel at 978-5566. The Hospice Speakers Bureau
is free of charge and we welcome the opportunity to present our program
to community groups of any size.

MATTERS

you have pennies in the cushions of your sofa or just laying around the
house, please donate them to the Respect Life Office “Pennies for
Babies Fund.” The money is used to help women in crisis pregnancies

CARE CONSULTATION TEAM
NOW AVAILABLE
Consisting
of VNA Hospice Medical Director, Dr. Richard Cunningham (board certified
in Hospice & palliative medicine), an RN, and a social worker, the
Care Team is a comprehensive service intended to provide comfort and
support to people facing life limiting illnesses, but whose prognoses do
not yet merit Hospice care. Palliative care for both patients and
families is just a phone call or visit away. Call 567-5551 to find out

REGIONAL SEMINARY
St.
Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary in Boynton Beach, Florida, is open to
accepting qualified non-resident students who are interested in pursuing
graduate studies for the M.A. degree in theology, or who are interested
in taking graduate courses as non-degree students.
