Men's Discipleship

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Where a lone man may be overcome, two together can resist. A three-ply cord is not easily broken.”

Wednesday Mornings 6:15 a.m.-7:30 a.m.

North Room beginning September 14th

All St. Helen men and guests are invited as we begin again our weekly Wednesday morning Men’s Discipleship meetings. This year we will be viewing and discussing in small groups the second series in the Alpha program. Alpha is a tool for evangelization that is being used by thousands of Catholic parishes in over 70 countries around the world. Alpha introduces people to the first proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ, otherwise known as the Kerygma: ‘Jesus Christ loves you; He gave His life to save you, and now He is living at your side to enlighten, strengthen and free you.’ (Evangelii Gaudium, 164). Breakfast will be served beginning at 6:15 a.m., followed by the DVD presentation and then small group discussion. Please join us!! For Info call the Church office at 567-5129 or Randy Brennan at 713-6436.

“Alpha is a wonderful method to introduce people to knowledge of faith.” Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa, Preacher to the Papal Household

The Saturday Morning Men’s Discipleship meets each Saturday at 8:00 a.m. in the Santa Maria Room of the CLC to review and discuss Catholic literature to enhance our faith and fraternity. We are currently reviewing the encyclical of Pope Francis, “On Care for Our Common Home”.

Purpose: The purpose of the Men’s Group is to further develop the spiritual lives of the men of St. Helen through a deepening of their personal relationship with Jesus, formation of relationships with one another, and training in discipleship.  Beginning in September 2014 the main meeting on Wednesday morning is focusing on the national program, "That Man Is You" This successful Catholic program for men offers not only a DVD format with a prominent speaker but also time for small group discussions.  Alight breakfast is provided at the beginning of the meeting. Men's Discipleship meetings on Monday evening and Saturday morning offer small group discussion and personal development.
